Calvin Kim

Calvin Kim is a litigation associate at Klaris, where his practice focuses on commercial, entertainment, media, and IP law. He is also part of the content clearance team at Klaris. Before joining Klaris, Calvin was an associate at Winston & Strawn LLP, where he represented clients in IP litigation, commercial disputes, and civil rights matters. In addition to his litigation practice, Calvin has experience in advising on talent and licensing agreements.

Calvin received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. While there, he served as a Senior Editor of the Michigan Law Review and was a Dean’s Scholar and an International Fellow. As an International Fellow, Calvininterned at the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. He obtained his B.M., with honors, from the Glenn Gould School in Toronto, Ontario, where he studied clarinet performance. Before law school, Calvin enjoyed a musical career performing with various opera houses, orchestras, and chamber ensembles throughout North America and Europe.

As a former professional musician, Calvin has a deep understanding of and appreciation for the interests of artists and serves on the Associate Board of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, where he works closely with clients to support their creative endeavors. In his free time, Calvin can be found performing with pickup orchestras and chamber groups in New York City, learning to paint with watercolors, and workshopping new Korean recipes in his home kitchen in Queens.
