Rachel Simon

Rachel is an associate whose practice encompasses media law litigation and prepublication review of both print and digital content. Before joining Klaris Law, Rachel was a litigator at Hecker Fink LLP, where she represented clients across the technology, news, and education sectors in a range of constitutional, commercial, civil rights, and data privacy matters. Rachel has also completed federal judicial clerkships with the Hon. Amalya L. Kearse of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Hon. John G. Koeltl of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She began her legal career at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, representing a multinational media corporation and other clients in securities matters and class action litigation.
Rachel received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School. While there, she served as an Executive Editor of the Harvard Law Review, collaborating with authors and academics to refine their legal scholarship. She obtained her B.A., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was awarded the Robert Holtz Memorial Prize for the most outstanding graduate in Political Science. Rachel has also published her own written work in the Harvard Law Review (as a student) and the Cardozo Law Review, among other journals.
Rachel is thrilled to work closely with clients who share her profound belief in the value of creativity, free expression, and a robust and independent press. Outside of that role, she is an avid reader, an aspiring painter, an outdoors enthusiast, and a devoted caretaker to the dozens of plants with whom she resides in Brooklyn.
